The Facts:
Lisa Day as a child did not enjoy reading. Finally as a teenager she discovered books she could sit back and savory. So it made perfect sense that she did not discover how much pleasure she found in writing until she was much older. How old? She isn't saying.

She resides in the southern USA. She and her husband share their home with a beagle they rescued from doggy prison (the local pound.)

Lisa was thrilled when the first publisher she summited  The Stepbrothers  to accepted it.


She hopes you'll enjoy reading it as much as she had fun in writing it.

The story:

People with cruel intentions never stop to think about future repercussions. Such a man was George. As a young man he set up his stepbrother. From fist fights to causing the death of Clint Hawks' mother and destroying the girl he loved for George nothing was off limits.  

The time will come for Hawks to find a way to get back at his stepbrother and will be nothing off limits for him either. Cunning and planning put George's fiancee into his hands. Alone in a cabin, far away from anywhere, he will destroy George by ruining the woman. 

 The fates are not with him. Hawks as Samantha Culpepper does not destroy so easily. He may have compromised her innocence but he did not foresee his heart getting involved and that definitely is not in the plan. 

Just when Hawks realizes his feeling but before he could figure out if it was

a good thing or not his best friend shows up. He almost let go of his scheme to

involve her in his plans. However, like any good friend, Mac who is handsome,

likable, and interested in Samantha as soon as he laid eyes on her. He will

complicate matters.

Mason Storm waited three agonizing months to hear from the wild Veronica Chance after she walked out of his life and back to her world.

Instead her sister calls, sobbing, and begs him to come to California. He drops everything and takes the first plane across the country to find out what happened.

After a chilly welcome from General Michael Chance, Mason learns Veronica was kidnapped along with her mother who is still being held hostage.

Their initial meeting is short, but Veronica is determined to get her mother back safely and asks for Mason's help knowing he can get the job done.

He's eager to get involved and carefully navigates his way into the investigation while trying to figure out exactly where he in stands in Veronica's eyes. .

  

A tease of an excerpt:

Keeping her focus off of Mason Storm grew harder each moment she breathed the same air as him. He constantly watched her. Pondering eyes studying every word, facial expression, and body movement she made. Feeling his arms around her once again threatened to drive the last bit of sanity from her mind. Veronica wanted to get swept away by the man. Spiral into the madness of lust with someone who already revved up her engine like no other man had.

Veronica couldn’t afford madness now as much as it killed her. Her father continued his retreat into the house, up to the second floor, closing in on his library. She wouldn’t let him get away that easily.

“You can’t give them that file and you know it.”

“Then you condemn your mother to death.”

“They’re playing the game. You have to play it back,” she said, grabbing his arm to stop him from going further.

“This isn’t a game, Roni!”

“Same as last time—”

“Enough!” her father snapped, dagger eyes digging into her soul. “You can’t give it to them! I won’t let you.”

He grabbed her by the arms, lifting her to her tip toes, touching his nose to her.

“I’ll decide what we will and will not do.”

“General!” Storm shouted from behind.

“Back off.”

Her father’s eyes filled with fire, neck craning back.

“You have no business here, Mr. Storm. I suggest you cut your losses and leave before I have my men remove you.”

“Try it,” he said, way too calmly as he moved to her father’s side. “Your daughter wants me here. I can understand why, you don’t listen to her; you cut her off all the time, talk down to her and Valerie. If you’d paid attention, you’d see she’s as scared as you are.”

He released her from the vice grip, straightened his shirt and stared down at her. Her anger threatened her wild tongue, but she stayed silent, shocked at Storm’s speech and keen observation.

“I’m…sorry, Roni. I haven’t been thinking clearly since…”

“I know,” she responded but didn’t reach out to offer him any comfort this time.

“There’s nothing we can do tonight.” He frowned, running his hand through the silver strands on his head.

“Let my men do their work…we’ll regroup in the morning.” “Okay,” she replied with a nod. “If I remember anything else, I’ll let you know.”

“Very well,” he said, regarded Storm with a narrowing gaze then vanished inside his library.

She sighed, covered her face and shook her head.

“Such a mess.”

“Yeah,” Storm replied. When she gazed up, his cheeks were still fiery with anger, hands clenched at his sides.

“Are you okay?”

“No, not really,” she answered.

“This is…bad, Storm.” .

Showcasing the works of Kellie Kamryn

Kellie-Kamryn believes: "Love - an emotion so strong that you would give up everything to just feel it once, to know that you are part of something special."

The Facts:
Lee Brazil believes that falling in love is the grandest adventure anyone can have. 

In a nutshell, that's every story I have to tell. I'm an avid reader and former teacher of grammar and composition. Showcasing: Ray and Cara Bertoia

THE FACTS:

Cara and Ray Bertoia tells us the facts from somewhere in the world.

Growing up in a straight laced Southern family, I was always fascinated with casinos. In my twenties, I became a dealer at Caesars in Lake Tahoe. My mother highly disapproved of my working in a casino, "a place so bad it has 'sin' in the middle." Eventually, I returned east, and I began working on my MFA in writing at Emerson. I wanted to write the first realistic novel about casino life from the perspective of an experienced table games dealer. I am always amazed that normal and sometimes quite intelligent players become absolutely clueless in the casino. They repeat superstitious nonsense and no amount of logic can change their position.

On a whim I submitted an article to The Boston Tab, about trying to find a rent control apartment. To my amazement they published it and I even received my first piece of fan mail. Spurred on by that success, the next week, after a few glasses of wine at lunch, I called the editor of the Brighton Allston Journal and told him I should write a humor column.

While in Boston I was offered the opportunity to join Princess Cruises as a croupier. Jumping at the chance, I spent the next five years circling the globe. Sometimes life exceeds your dreams. I was awed by the wonders of Venice, the fjords of Norway, and the Northern Lights in Leningrad but on the downside I also watched glaciers melt at an alarming rate in Alaska, snorkeled to coral reefs killed by pollution in the Caribbean, and witnessed the devastation as the Amazon burned. It was the best education I could ever have had. Taking advantage of every opportunity to be a tour guide, I soaked in as much history as I could.

I returned from ships with a very special souvenir, my husband Ray. Besides being a handsome Glaswegian, he is my co-author.

Cruise Quarters - A novel About Casinos and Cruise Ships is a fun, fast paced tale of working in the casino aboard a Regal Cruises cruise-ship.

The crew of the Regal Star resemble a mini United Nations, hiring people from all over the world. But unlike the UN, Regal Cruise's employees present a united front above decks as they attend to their passenger's every need. Below decks though, that is a different story.

Sarah Seldon is a croupier on the luxury liner. After many unhappy endings, and burnt out on shipboard romance, she is determined to forget about men and concentrate on becoming a casino manager. On land women face a dearth of GOOD men but on a ship giving up men would take willpower. The mostly male crew exists to serve her every need. Handsome Italian waiters bring her food, the Filipino steward cleans her room, English officers play poker with her and the Welsh plumber fixes her sink. She leads a cushy life, sleeping 'til noon , eating gourmet food, and the topper - she gets to wake up in beautiful new place everyday. All because she works in a casino, a place so bad it has SIN in the middle.

We also produced a movie on walking the 500-mile "Camino De Santiago," in Spain. The Desert Woman and the Desert Sun both featured stories about our walk. When we were researching the Camino we could never find a good practical guide on the terrain and the trail, the things a person would experience every day, although there was plenty on the architecture and history. So seeing a need we made a movie of our journey. It is a thrill to come home and find orders from such diverse countries as Japan and Denmark. The address for our movie is: www.caminovideo.com.

Hello! As for my current WIP there are actually three. I am currently editing Mocked by Faith for release in August 2011. I am writing a new science fiction series called Parasouls, and, a new romance story called Loving on the Bayou. Before you think it, yes, I write a lot. I do have a few other projects I am working on but they are not far enough along to give you too many details.

THE STORY:

PARASOULS

Born amongst the humans yet not being one, the parasouls fight to remain hidden. Paranormal souls living in the underbelly of society, they live in their own world. Using the hidden tunnels and abandoned, buried basements as their homes, they've created a world where they don’t need to pretend they are normal. They’re not normal. Their gifts remind them of that. When you can produce electric blue flames from your fingertips, there is no way to hide from it.

Damian (the Master) built and rules the world they thrive in. The Parasoul Acquisition Control Taskforce hunts them for what they are. Which side is the good, the bad, and the ugly? Angelique is about to find out.

Angelique is the leader of a special team, whose job it is to keep the normals from knowing of the parasouls existence. Her gift was also a curse, leaving her physically unable to touch another living soul without inflicting indescribable pain upon them.

Shane’s job as the head hunter for the taskforce finds himself trapped between the only thing he has ever desired and his job. Like Angelique, he has never been able to touch anyone since he too had a gift that was a curse. In his case it was the red and orange flames the singed the flesh of others. Until he met Angelique. Can love conquer all when you are supposed to hate the one soul you cannot live without?
